At our school, the Junior Red Cross (JRC) program for Classes V and VI is designed to instill a deep sense of humanity, service, and empathy among young students. Through this initiative, children are introduced to the core principles of the Red Cross—health, service, and friendship—in age-appropriate and engaging ways.
Our Junior Red Cross activities focus on:
-
Health Awareness: Students learn basic hygiene, nutrition, and first aid practices to develop lifelong healthy habits. Regular health-related workshops and demonstrations are conducted to reinforce these lessons.
-
Social Service: Young learners are encouraged to participate in simple, meaningful community service activities. These include visiting homes for the elderly, helping peers, and participating in clean-up drives within the school premises.
-
Teamwork and Compassion: The JRC fosters a spirit of friendship and cooperation. Activities are designed to promote inclusiveness, support for others, and the importance of working together for a common cause.
-
Disaster Awareness: Basic knowledge about natural disasters and safety measures are shared with students to build confidence and preparedness.
By participating in the Junior Red Cross, students in Classes V and VI not only gain practical life skills but also develop a sense of social responsibility at an early age. The program empowers them to grow into caring, active citizens who are ready to make a positive impact on the world around them.
